At Galkin Orthodontics, we are a family oriented practice and strive to make our patient’s well-being our number one priority. Our staff is gentle, kind, and respectful while providing each patient with the most efficient and highest quality of treatment.
Your First Visit
You or your child's first visit to the orthodontist is an exciting time for everyone! Upon arriving at our office, our professional team will make you feel at ease and comfortable. We pride ourselves on caring for each and every patient and making sure that everyone feels welcome. We feel that a fun office environment can make the orthodontic experience easy for patients of all ages.
Dr. Galkin will do an examination to determine the orthodontic needs. Digital photographs and x-rays are typically taken at the initial consultation. This will assist the doctor in making a diagnosis and plan of treatment. He will then sit down with you and answer any of the questions that you may have about your treatment options.
When appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) are initially placed a longer visit is necessary. This appointment can take anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes. After this, you will then see us for what orthodontists call "adjustment" visits. These appointments take between 15 to 30 minutes and are now done at 6 to 8 weeks intervals, because of new technologies in orthodontic treatment. Longer appointments are scheduled in the morning or early afternoon. This allows us to accommodate as many families as possible for after-school appointments.
We offer different payment options (including no-interest, monthly payment plans) designed to suit different budgets. Each patient's orthodontic problems differ and cost of treatment will be based upon this. This will be discussed at the consultation appointment prior to initiating any treatment, thus making the most of the valuable time that you have set aside from your busy schedule to meet with our team.
Our office participates with most major dental insurance companies. Insurance benefits will be confirmed by our team, so that you may explain your benefits to you at your consultation appointment. Once treatment is started. we will bill your insurance for any treatment that is done and help handle any questions that may arise.

We reserve certain times during the day to assist patients that may have wires poking or brackets off. Please call early in the day to keep your waiting time to a minimum. If you have an actual orthodontic emergency after hours or on the weekend and you are unable to make yourself comfortable, please call our office for further instructions.
